Our Commitment
We are a small boutique hotel with a big plan to commitment to being a socially conscious and environmentally responsible company. We are committed to ensuring that we make positive business decisions and engage in equally positive business practices. This is very important to us and a big deal to how we engage in the hospitality industry and provide our guests with quality services. We work closely with our parent company to honor our goals and values and to achieve a positive impact on Kyoto, our society and our global community.
環境に優しい
今熊野テラス庵は環境への取り組みとしてゴミの分別を行い、また書類等のペーパーレス化、町家で提供しているアメニティーボトル（シャンプー、コンディショナー、ボディーソープ）をディスペンサータイプにする事によって、、ゴミの削減に取り組んでいます。
Environmentally Sustainable Business Practices
We aim to reduce waste and utilize our energy conservation practices. This includes but is not limited to providing larger amenity bottles (shampoo, conditioner, body soap, facial products) for use during a guest's stay with us, recycling systems and making environmentally friendly housekeeping choices.
We purchase fresh amenities on the day our guests arrive as to reduce waste, we provide housekeeping serivces but work with our guests to be environmentally cpnscious including limiting laundry serivces to guests who opt out of this serivce and much more.

Community Involvement & Initiatives
We are committed to our supporting and being active in our local community and also supporting causes that go beyond the stepping stones of our city. At a local level we proudly support local businesses from the complimentary edible amenities to some of the dishes we provide the machiyas, where we can we try! We take an active role in neighborhood agendas as is most evident in our historic conservation and preservation work, co-founding a support group for foreign owned hospitality businesses in the neighborhood to being activty in the local community council.
We believe that our hotel should be accessible by all and we have been committed to designing one of our machiyas, Ninsei-An, to be universally accessible.
We are also a pet friendly hotel - so pet friendly we started fostering a puppy that is now part of the team!

charitable causes
We support many causes that are close to our hearts. We are committed to creating a difference and making a positive impact on the local community, national and international causes. This big commitment is a reflection of the backgrounds of our hotel team and the guests we serve. We hope that you can join us in making a difference to worthy causes.
During these tough times we are reminded of the act of being kind and supportive. We have started small by doing grocery shopping for the elderly, donating rooms for causes, using cleaning products that are not only environmentally friendly but make contributions to foundations including wildlife rescue projects. Our actions and contributions from the products that we use, donating our time to those in need to pledging 1% of our profits to charity, illustrates our commitment to contributing to society in a positive way.
Examples of our past commitmments in 2023
- Supporting the Second Harvest Food Drive at the local Imakumano Children's Center. We were very lucky to have some guests help with the delivery of the gifts!
- Fostering a puppy in need of some help.
-Donating in-kind to causes that include providing complimentary room nights for stranded foreigners due to international conflict
